The Collection Gallery exhibits selected works of nihonga (Japanese-style painting), yōga(Western-style painting), prints, sculpture, crafts (ceramics, textiles, metalworks, wood and bamboo works, lacquers and jewellery) and photography from the museum collection. Also shown are outstanding and monumental works of modern art in Japan, as well as modern and contemporary European and American art.

9:30–17:00 (Admission until 16:30) Extended hours Every Friday and Saturday 9:30–20:00 (Admission until 19:30) Closed Every Monday (or, if Monday is a national holiday, the following Tuesday) New Year’s holiday (Please note that the museum hours and closures may be changed without notice.)
